Assistive Technology (AT) Center

The Assistive Technology Center contains a wealth of educational software and adaptive devices for children and youth with disabilities. Assistive Technology helps children and adults with any type of disability make the most of their abilities by assisting them in completing tasks more independently and successfully. VPIC's AT Center works in partnership with The Vermont Assistive Technology Project (VATP) to provide demonstrations, training and technical assistance around the latest technology. In addition to VPIC's AT Director, a member of VATP is on site one day per week at our office in Williston.

The Assistive Technology Center includes three programs - an adaptive equipment and software try out program, an information and referral program and a recycled computer donation program.

The AT try out program allows you to see and use many different assistive technology devices and software programs. You can also take home written information and be referred to other resources. If we don't have the devices, software or information you need, we will find other available technology solutions. To make an appointment to visit the program,
contact VPIC.

The information and referral program includes written and audio visual materials, technology catalogs, sample software and VPIC fact sheets. We will refer you to local, state and national resources for equipment, funding, software and services.

Through the recycled computer program, VPIC will provide available used computers to the parent or guardian of a child with special needs or an individual with a disability. To learn more about receiving or donating a computer, check out our Recycled Computer Program page.
